#CookForSyria Pop-up Café Opens on Monmouth Street
The #CookForSyria pop-up café, takeaway and bookshop is now open at 36 Monmouth Street just in time for the for the festive season.
The international fundraising initiative curated by award-winning influencer Clerkenwell Boy, SUITCASE Magazine CEO and Founder Serena Guen, and Gemma Bell, the founder of one of London’s leading restaurant PR agencies, is now in its second year and continues to preserve and celebrate Syrian culture amid one of the largest humanitarian crises of our time, while raising money to help Unicef protect Syrian children.
Don't miss Imad Alarnab’s much-loved mezze available every day to take away or eat in. Think hummus and baba ganoush accompanied by mezze such as fattoush, tabbouleh, ‘ful mudammas’ (fava beans, olive oil, garlic and cumin), labneh and flatbread.
You'll also find a daily-changing variety of pastries, cakes and mince pies created by London’s top bakers including Lily Vanilli, Bread Ahead, The Good Egg, Henrietta Inman and many more.
And if you're gift shopping for a budding cook this Christmas, you'll be able to pick up the #CookForSyria cookbook, which includes traditional recipes and stories from Syrian families (handed down from generations) and further modern recipes with Syrian-inspired twists from leading chefs and cooks.
All proceeds from the #CookForSyria cookbook, baked goods, and a donation from each Imad’s Syrian Kitchen dish will go to Unicef UK’s children of Syrian fund.
